Atty. Michael S. Gove

10432170_10152061563886637_1641500727_nMichael S. Gove received his J.D. from Boston College School of Law in 2004, after graduating cum laude from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst in 2001. From 2004 until 2006, Michael served as the law clerk for the Western Division of the Housing Court, and has been in private practice since then.

A Western Massachusetts native, Michael has developed a diverse legal practice including general business and corporate law, estate planning and administration, real estate and landlord-tenant matters, and the representation of families in the public school and special education process. Michael is committed to assisting business owners and families in looking forward and planning for the future, and to finding creative and collaborative solutions to legal obstacles.

Michael is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Hampden County Bar Association, the Hampshire County Bar Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association. In 2007, he was honored by BusinessWest as a member of the inaugural “40 Under Forty” class, in part for his work with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.

From 2007 through 2012, Michael served as a Board member on the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, a multi-billion dollar governmental agency tasked with managing water and sewage services for more than two million residents of the greater Boston area. He presently serves as a Corporator of The Horace Smith Fund, which grants scholarships for Hampden County residents pursuing a college or graduate education.

Michael also volunteers with the UMass Fine Arts Center, Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and the Ludlow Boys and Girls Club, and previously served as President of the Advisory Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County.

In 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Michael was selected as a Massachusetts Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a professional achievement earned by no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in Massachusetts.

Michael currently resides in Easthampton, where he enjoys hiking, kayaking, and bicycling through the Pioneer Valley.
