Atty. Michael S. Gove

Michael S. Gove received his J.D. from Boston College School of Law in 2004, after graduating cum laude from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst in 2001. From 2004 until 2006, Michael served as the law clerk for the Western Division of the Housing Court, and has been in private practice since then.

A Western Massachusetts native, Michael has developed a diverse legal practice including estate planning and administration, general business and corporate law, and residential and commercial real estate matters.  Michael is committed to assisting business owners and families in looking forward and planning for the future, and to finding creative and collaborative solutions to legal obstacles.

Michael is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Hampden County Bar Association, the Hampshire County Bar Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association. In 2007, he was honored by BusinessWest as a member of the inaugural “40 Under Forty” class, in part for his work with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.

From 2007 through 2012, Michael served as a Board member on the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, a multi-billion dollar governmental agency tasked with managing water and sewage services for more than two million residents of the greater Boston area. He presently serves as a Corporator of The Horace Smith Fund, which grants scholarships for Hampden County residents pursuing a college or graduate education.

Michael also volunteers with the UMass Fine Arts Center, Cooley Dickinson Hospital, United Way of Hampshire County, and Gateway City Live.org, and previously served as President of the Advisory Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County.

In 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Michael was selected as a Massachusetts Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a professional achievement earned by no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in Massachusetts.

In 2019, Michael was named Affiliate of the Year by the REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley.

Michael currently resides in Huntington, where he enjoys hiking, kayaking, and bicycling through the Pioneer Valley.
